Overview
Educational Objectives:
After completing this activity participants will be able to:
- Describe the biological pathways and hormones involved in regulating appetite and weight and how they are modified in chronic obesity
- Recommend and prescribe weight-loss medications to patients, when appropriate, as an adjunct to routine weight management.
- Refer patients for bariatric surgery when appropriate and provide care for patients who have had the surgery
- Select weight-neutral or weight-negative medications that could replace patients’ current weight-gaining medications.
